The Adventure Begins

At 12:55 pm today, Collin began his mission service. He was ready, eager, and a bit nervous. After his last "American burger" at In and Out, we took some pictures near the MTC. Then he said, "Let's go drop me off." We entered and kicked him out at the curb. Actually, the curbside drop-off was much more relaxing and sweet than I thought it would be. Elder Bittner helped him lug his luggage away and off he went. Somewhere between Farmington and the MTC our boy became a man. That man - a prepared missionary - walked away without looking back. He is going to have such a fantastic adventure. He will be an amazing missionary.

Collin and his sisters. They miss him tons already.

With Grandma and Grandpa Grant as we walked out the door.

Waiting for the drop-off time. He is so handsome!

He is so excited. Go forth, Elder Grant!

Walking away. The adventure begins.

  1. Awwww!!! I just can't believe it! What a touching post. How does it feel now, a few days out? I just can't believe this is the stage of life we're all in. It floors me.
He'll be fantastic, with all that crazy enthusiasm he has. I can't wait to watch his mission unfold!!
